We are the owners and operator of the App known as Alexander (‘Alexander’). For the purposes of this Privacy Notice the services you access via Alexander will be referred to as ‘Services’. If you any queries in respect of this Privacy Notice, wish to exercise any of your legal rights in relation to processing of personal information or about our company please email us at help@alxr.com. As a business, we are committed to respecting and protecting the privacy of all individuals with whom we interact. We are committed to being transparent in our handling of personal information and processing personal information at all times. This Privacy Notice explains how we may collect and use personal information from you when you use Alexander and our Website. When we collect personal information we do so in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (‘GDPR’) and/or the Data Protection Act 2018 (UK).

What personal information we collect on this website and via Alexander

We on collect personal information on Alexander for the sole purpose of providing you access and giving you the ability to use Alexander. Our website is our marketing tool about Alexander and we only collect information from you to improve your experience when accessing our website and Alexander. This includes collecting unique mobile device ID, telephone number and/or the internet protocol (IP) address online identifiers, which are numbers that can uniquely identify a specific computer or other network device on the internet. This information is linked to a cookie ID on the website but not for Alexander, which we receive and process. We also collect information about you, including usage information if you make use of any of the interactive features within our website or in Alexander that rely on a personalised response, or where you ask us to respond to a query you have, or add your details to one of our alert or subscription services. The information we collect is limited to the details we need to provide the specific service you have asked for.  We do not collect sensitive information, such as your political or religious beliefs, ethnic background, sexual preference, health or any other sensitive information.

We do not actively seek to collect information about children aged 13 or under.  If you have any concerns about your child’s privacy in relation to our services, or if you believe that your child may have entered personal information onto our website or on Alexander, please contact us at help@alxr.com. We will delete such information from our records within a reasonable time.

What personal information we collect when you use Alexander

When you use Alexander, our Standard Terms and Conditions will apply and are located here www.alxr.com/terms.html. When we collect your personal information for the purposes of providing Services we only process information required to provide those Services to you. We do not collect your payment information, this is all facilitated through your subscription with the platform from who your subscribed to Alexander, for example if you downloaded Alexander from the Apple App store, Apple collects your personal information and payment information and Apple’s terms and conditions and privacy policy in relation to that payment are governed by Apples’ Terms of Use, Privacy and Cookie policies which are located here https://www.apple.com/uk/legal/internet-services/itunes/uk/terms.html. For Android, the Google Play terms and conditions located here will apply to the collection of your personal information https://support.google.com/googleplay/answer/7018481. We also use Google Analytics to collect details of your usage of the Alexander to help improve the service we provide to you. How we use this information

The table below sets out further information about the purposes for which we use your personal information, with the corresponding methods of collection and legal basis that we rely upon for its use.

In the case of our Services, the URLs you access (and therefore included in our log files) include usernames as well as elements of Content (such as Jira project names, project keys, status names, and JQL filters, and Confluence page titles and space names) as necessary for the Services to perform the requested operations.

It is our legitimate business interest to provide an efficient and informative website and to ensure the operation of Alexander.

To comply with our contractual obligations to provide the Services to you.

We connect personal information to information gathered in our log files as necessary to improve Services for legitimate interest to provide an effective service.

To communicate with you

  • to assist you with any technical problems you have with our Alexander
  • to update you with any changes to our terms and conditions/ other policies
  • to effectively communicate with you to enable us to provide Services to you

It is our legitimate business interest to respond to communications that you send to us, inform you of relevant information in relation to the services that we provide and utilise your information to improve our business.

In order to comply with our contractual obligations to provide our Services to you we will be required to process your personal data.

To share information with your service providers

  • As part of providing Services to you we will need to communicate with and share certain personal information with third party service providers such as Apple who provide access to Alexander through their App Store.

It is our legitimate business interest to share your data with trusted third parties to whom you request we share your personal information. We are also contractually obliged provide us with services relevant to our provision of our website.

To send you information about our services

  • to send you information which you have requested e.g. alerts as to new publications on Alexander in accordance with your specified preferences

Where you have requested information from us, such as alerts for new publications, we send such [email] communications based on your consent.

You can ask us to stop sending such communications at any time by the opt out option on your device. Please allow up to 48 hours for any opt out request to be processed.

To improve and develop Alexander and our website

  • We conduct statistical analyses on your usage of Alexander and our website e.g., to enable us to improve our Services, offer new features and materials, etc.

It is our legitimate business interest to identify ways to improve our services (and develop new ones) for our subscribers.

To provide services to you

  • We will communicate with you as to what is required in providing services to you
  • We collect information about you as you subscriber to Alexander to create or modify your profile, make purchases through, use, access, or interact with the Services (including but not limited to when you upload, download, collaborate on or share Content that is made available for sharing on Alexander). We only collect (i) Contact information such as name, email address, mailing address, and phone number. Your Billing information such as credit card details and billing address (iii) Profile information such as a username, profile photo, and job title (iv) Preferences information such as notification and marketing preferences may be collected by Apple and Apple’s terms and conditions will apply.
  • You may provide this information directly when you enter it into Alexander.

Legal basis for processing: (1) to perform our contract with you, (2) to comply with our legal obligations and, (3) necessary for our legitimate interests to manage and administer our business effectively and to provide Services to you in accordance with our Terms & Conditions and where we consider that our legitimate interests do not override your own interests, rights and freedoms.

In some instances, we may intend to use your information in ways that are not described above. However, we will inform you before doing so and if necessary seek your consent to do so, if legally required to do so.

How long we keep your personal information for

We store your personal information in accordance with legal, regulatory, financial and best-practice business requirements. Once your personal information is no longer necessary we will securely delete/destroy your data in line with the requirements of Data Protection Act 2018.

How we secure your personal information

We have appropriate security, technical and organisational measures in place to prevent unlawful or unauthorised use, access to or accidental loss, alteration or destruction of personal information. Where appropriate, we use encryption and other technologies that assist in securing the data you provide. We also seek to ensure our service providers comply with strict data privacy requirements. Your personal information is stored within the European Union.

Information Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell or rent any personally identifiable information about you collected via Alexander or our website to any third party.

Your personal information may be stored in one or more databases hosted by third parties. These third parties do not have use or access to your personal information for any purpose other than cloud storage or retrieval.

Where required or permitted by law, personal information may be provided to others, such as regulators and law enforcement agencies, for example in response to a court order or a subpoena, or in response to a law enforcement agency’s request, or where we believe it is necessary to investigate, prevent or take action regarding illegal activities, and as otherwise required by law.

 

From time to time, we may consider corporate transactions such as a merger, acquisition, reorganisation, asset sale, or similar. In these instances, we may transfer or allow access to information to enable the assessment and undertaking of that transaction. If we buy or sell any business or assets, personal information may be transferred to third parties involved in the transaction.

General rights

  • If you would like us to delete your information from our records, please contact us using the contact details below and we will respond within a reasonable time. Please note that we may be required to retain certain information by law and/or for our own legitimate business purpose.

You may withdraw your consent to our processing of your personal information that has been derived from cookies. If you do withdraw consent, that will not affect the lawfulness of what we have done with your personal information before you withdrew consent;

  • request portability of your personal information that we hold, in certain circumstances;

This Privacy Notice is limited to the personal information which we collect and use via Alexander, this website or in providing our Services. We do provide links within Alexander, this site to other websites, including social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn to enable you to share content from Alexander. If you follow these links, you should use these sites in conjunction with their applicable user and privacy notices as their data practices fall outside the scope of this Privacy Notice. Further, we can have no responsibility for or control over the information collected by any third party website, platform or App and we cannot be responsible for the protection and privacy of any information which you may provide on such websites.

Updates

This Privacy Notice may be updated from time to time to reflect changes in law, best practice or a change in our practices regarding the treatment of personal information. If you do not agree to the changes, please do not continue to use our website and you may exercise your rights as set out above.

In this Supplementary Information section, we explain some of terminology used in this Privacy Notice.

Content” means any articles, publications, stories, posts, audio visual content or data that is displayed or made available to you via Alexander or this website.

data controller” has the meaning attributed to it in the Data Protection Act 2018.

data processor” has the meaning attributed to it in the Data Protection Act 2018.

"personal information" – any information that relates to you (or from which you can be identified).

"profiling" - automatically using personal information to work out certain things about people, like analysing or predicting their performance at work, reliability, economic situation, personal preferences, interests, behaviour, location or movements.
